SOPANASANGEETHAM

Sopana Sangeetham is a type of spiritual music in kerala. The steps of the temple is known as Sopanam, and the artist stands on the side of Sopanam. He sings the song accompanying with the background of Edayka(conti.....),and Chengila, musical instruments for this art. The Sopana Sangeetham is actually the classical music of kerala, but unfortunately as in language Malayalam, the clasicals of other region is also make its own impressions in this music. Then also some of the artist in Sopana Sangeetham is using the traditional path.

The Thyani which is the Dyanams(Prayers) for various gods. About Keerthannam the basic keerthanam is Jayadeva Kavi wrote Ashtapathi. And other Traditional Keerthanam, Some Kadhakali padam are also using in this . For live Sopana Sangeetham can visit Kerala temples.

2. PANJAVADYAM
The definition of Panjavadyam says it consists of tatham,vitatam,ghanam,sushiram with the decorated statue of god. Now a days the PANJAVADYAM having the instruments idayka,thimila,maddhalam,sangha,elathalam,and kombu.

The Panjavadyam Starts with blowing sangha 3 times. At the end(3rd yama)of the third blowing it is starting. The Pramani(leader)of thimila is starting the panjavadyam.

KALAMEZHUTHU PATTU

Kalamezhuthu pattu is another temple art. The artist commonly doing kalamezuthupattu is belonging to a special community known as

Kurup

. The kurupu wrote the picture of god or geodes is the pattupure which is the stage for this art. The picture is wrote with natural powders from leaves, turmeric, carbon etc...

In the evening after the worship in temple artist start his song with back ground of weekan chenda, an instrument,. after that he clear the picture . You can see this in various temples in Kerala
